WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY ?
Another 5 games day with the difficult guess of who will be the starting goaltenders for the teams playing two games in two nights.
Can Fribourg make a perfect start with a third win in a row? They avoided the Rappi trap yesterday but now are facing Ambri’s debut at the new Valascia! Let say Berra will play that game as well and Conz would suit for Ambri after Ciaccio yesterday. Fribourg is still favored on paper.
Betting: No. Too much uncertainty here
Davos wasn’t playing yesterday when Bern came short at home against Zug. Wüthrich should be back in nets for Bern. In our model, Davos, at home is the clear favorite and so far the new imports didn’t disappoint.
Betting: The model would go for Bern, again… With a 2.9 odd for a win in regulation. The Bears came close in their first two games. Trust the process.
Langnau started with a bang with a victory in Lugano when Geneva will want to get their first points of the season after a loss in Zurich. But the Grenat are still without Mercier, Karrer and Le Coultre (half of their top6 defence), Tanner and Miranda. Though newcomers Josh Jooris is set to make his debut. With all those absences, the model gives Langnau a slight advantage IF Punnenovs starts the game. If it’s another goalie for Langnau, Geneve gets a 51/49 advantage.
Betting: Go for Langnau with a 3.1 odd for a win in regulation that is very attractive given the team is favored here. Even if Punnenovs doesn’t start.
Bienne could also complete a perfect three wins week after defeating Lausanne yesterday. Rapperswil lost at Fribourg but kept Nyffeler fresh for today. Still not enough for our model who gives Bienne a clear advantage no matter the goalie in nets.
Betting: No. I would go Bienne but they only have a 2.17 odd. Too low for the model.
The “piece de résistance” : the first Zug vs Zurich of the season. Zug got three points in Bern yesterday when Zurich was upset at home by Ambri in Overtime. We guess both teams will change goalies for today but it doesn’t matter much for the model anyway. Advantage Zug.
Betting: In such a close match-up… and a 3.4 odd for a win. Of course Zurich is our choice here.
